New Annual Orbis Poetry Prize
sponsored by Word Masala (Yogesh Patel)
The first prize of £200 will be awarded
to the best poem published in the magazine during 2025
Two runners-up will receive £25 each.
(This is in addition to the Orbis Readers’ Award of £50
plus £50 between the runners-up)
Please continue to vote for your favourite poem in every issue
keeping a record of the choices each time.
Then in December, vote for the best one for the year;
Results will be announced in #2015, Spring 2026.
You are the judges for the best of the best poem
Dithering Chaps is open for submissions
We are an indie publisher of carefully crafted poetry chapbooks (30-50 pages)
and our current reading period ends 30th September 2025
You are welcome to send us a 10 page sample of your work
And we promise to provide short written feedback within two months.
(If you mention Orbis - we will offer expedited feedback within one month).
Reading fee is £10 per submission.

We will publish a longlist and a shortlist in October this year
and our chosen poet will be published next May.

2nd year of pamphlet competition; two categories
A. poets who would like to have their first collection published
B. established poets looking to publish a new collection
£10 entry fee.

will read the submissions and create a shortlist.
10 poems, 30-40 lines each. ‘looking for common threads
rather than a totally random selection’
Include a cover sheet with full details:
name, contact telephone or mobile number, e-mail, titles of poems.
Please mark entry Category A or B
Final adjudicator TBC
Winners receive £100 + 25 complimentary copies
plus invitation to submit a pamphlet collection to Poetry Space.
